Robotics + Digital Fabrication 2-day workshop (organized by MU and Impakt) kicked off at Impakt Headquarters (Utrecht) on Thursday March 22, by exploring Arduino technology – an easy-to-use open source platform known for its many interactive and artistic possibilities. Starting from the the perspective of motion and behavior, we introduced participants to different kinds of motors and encouraged them to create kinetic objects. The second day of the workshop, located at Sectie-C (Eindhoven), was dedicated to laser cutting and how this technique could be applied in robotic art. During this session, the participants were able to take their kinetic objects to the next level and digitally fabricate actual bodyparts for their moving feature.

Introduction to Robotics with Arduino The workshop explored the creation of robots using Arduino: control of motors, motion and behaviors. We had introduced the common motors (5v DC motors, servomotors and stepper motors) and how to control them with Arduino. Arduino is an open source microcontroller and platform that has a big community and an extensive online documentation. The workshop had offered basic knowledge of electronics and Arduino that will allow participants to develop their own robotic and kinetic projects afterwards. The basics of programming for Arduino were introduced as well.

Public Interventions with(out) Technology was a 2-week-long course at ISA (International Summer ART Academy) in Ohrid, Macedoni (01.-15.08.2011). The workshop offered bits of theory and practical know-how. The main aims were to re-think traditional art forms and think and act out of gallery environment..

Gamepad bending workshop lasted for 3 days in IDEE (Dresden, Germany). During this time I invited participants to re-think the concept of video games and encouraged to create a new and much more active interface for video games.

The outcome was "Drum Ball". We opened the game pad and transformed old buttons to the drum and sticks. It means, while playing the drum, one is able to play a video game as well. It is possible through the contact between the drum surface and the sticks that are covered with silver paper. It means hitting the drum surface with the sticks triggers contact in the gamepad and the game can be played.

Solar Instrument consists of sound chip (IC 74HC14), piezos, solar cell, some resistors and transistors. This tool is easy to make and power. Moreover, one can create different sound with this tool. Current example has 2 piezos that can be connected to 12 different pins, and thus, create various sounds. Of course, the strength of light plays an important role, too. tutorial>>

Solarbots was a workshop organized by MzTek and helt in Space, London (12.09.09). Cause the topic of workshop was sustaining energy, I proposed to experimentate with solar energy. During 7h participants were building small robots that were powered by solar cells. In the end of the workshop the participants applied their creative minds for customising their solarbots :)

Interactice dolls workshops were given at Electic Tech Carneval in Umea, Sweden (8.-12.06.09). Participants were teached about different kind of motors, Arduino, and how to hack normal dolls and make them move.

Roboter workshop was given in Bern, Switherland at Six Freaks Under festival (09.05.2009). It was open workshop during the whole day. So people could join whenever they wanted and try to build their own interactive dolls.

I found an old magazine and got inspired from this amazing design. Thus, i wanted to make some ladies move and bring forgotten images back into life.
I am using simple DC-motor that is controlled by H-bridge. So the figure can be moved back and forth and create a feeling like walking around in a city.
